A prophetic book.If I changed the first paragraphs and put as the initial cause the Russia-Ukraine war with the involvement of NATO in its worst version, (which I could not have known a few months ago when I was writing it), the rest of the post apocalyptic book is valid as is!!
After the pandemic comes the nuclear apocalypse!
After a prolonged period of a deadly pandemic that caused the international shutdown of economies, societies, suspension of activities and isolation at home, life seemed to be returning to its former normality. But the pandemic had left behind people frightened, suspicious, trapped in phobias, crass individualists and financially ruined. The magnitudes of inequality are unfathomable, enormous accumulation of wealth in the few, and millions of poor that are multiplying. Rage overflows...
The seething planet becomes a field of commercial, state and geopolitical rivalries, bringing back war and even the nuclear threat. Until what thinking citizens around the world feared, happened! What humanity gained in the last centuries of its historical path, was lost in a few months.
After the strikes, a vast, hostile to every being, Cursed Earth was created with some remote centers capable of harboring life. Scattered in space, at the edges of the planet and very difficult to communicate with each other, these closed areas, little or nothing affected by the nuclear holocaust. The electricity supply was completely cut off and every single one of its production units came to an abrupt halt. Only with applications of steam could the survivors begin again.
As if the destruction from radioactivity were not enough, with the repeated releases of enormous amounts of heat that accompany nuclear explosions, global warming has accelerated. The only continent suitable for life became distant Antarctica, after the ice melted.
In this place, a worried father was planning a new life for his 8-year-old daughter and the other survivors, helped by a team of scientists and a few friends...
